Abeer Kayani is an emerging designer-maker specialising in hand-dyed, screen-printed textiles from UCA, Farnham. She works passionately with strong colours and intricate patterns highly influenced by her South Asian roots. She works in her home studio and works with local galleries. She received recognition for her quality textiles and exceptional use of colour by Society of Dyers and Colourists alongside New Ashgate Gallery, nominating her as a Rising Star of 2020.
Abeer recreates her rich cultural experience through colour and quality craft using soft, luscious silk that drapes beautifully as a scarf. Her process ranges from abstract mark making, hand drawing to digitally developed artwork. Trained in traditional hand-dyeing, Abeer uses her experience of working with raw colour pigments to mix unique colours. Items are made to order in small batches. All Silks are wrapped in tissue and arrive in a luxury gift box with an optional wrapping service.
