Helen Locke Print
I’m originally from Bisley, studying illustration at Liverpool and Brighton, I have always loved printmaking and was Artist in Residence at Ochre Print Studio. Making a series of narrative aprons led me to print onto fabric using a heat press, a process used to make a collection of prints, jewellery and homeware inspired by beach side rock pools. Current collections are based on Surrey Vineyards and British trees.
I use several techniques to design my work. Drawings and shapes for my rock pool series are made using heat transfer inks, I use the heat press to transfer the intense colour to neoprene bags. Each of these are unique, combining mark making and stencils. This is also true of my screen prints on paper and fabric, the embellishment using foil is created by printing adhesive and adhering it with the press. I design simple graphic shapes for acrylic jewellery which are professionally laser cut.
Super lovely, light as a feather earrings. I’ll be wearing these ALL weekend .... and beyond! Thank you Helen! Cari-Jane
